The covid19 pandemic is probably the biggest political correctness blunder the world has ever seen.
One of the core tenets of managing disease spread and epidemics is prevention.
You definitely don’t let an unknown new SARS-like disease continue to spread and tell people we’re monitoring it closely. That’s what Canada did.
You have to stop it in it tracks by getting to the source. And if you can’t get it at the source, then you have to isolate everyone who gets it and monitor it in the infected people.
This isn’t difficult to comprehend. I think if you ask people with a little bit of intelligence how they would control an epidemic, they’ll come up with this. There are other steps after this, but, I am willing to bet that the majority of people will come up with at least finding the source and isolation.
So, to have the world leaders and top global health experts working overtime on this issue, I was absolutely dumbfounded to see travel continue as it did and the double-down efforts on teaching us about racism and stigma instead of trying to prevent the spread of the disease.
Let’s pretend we’re talking with a young child:
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Hi little girl! I have a test for you.
Little Girl: Sure, what is it?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: We have a an unknown disease. It’s spreading in this one country called China. China is surrounded by many other countries.
The main way the disease can spread is from person to person through droplets when we speak and breathe.
People from China can travel to other countries by plane or cars or trains.
How can we stop the virus from spreading to other countries?
Little girl: I think if we don’t let them travel to the other countries, then the disease won’t spread outside of China. And maybe if we give people masks then the droplets won’t transfer from person to person within China.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: If you restrict travel to that one country, it’s systemic discrimination. That’s racist. Do you want to be racist? And if you make people wear masks, that’s an infringement on people’s rights. Plus, there is no scientific evidence that masks work. It might even make things worse.
Little girl: I don’t mean to be racist, but, it seems like the best way to stop the disease. And how can masks make it worse?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Racism is harder to stop than the disease. And masks can make it worse because people might not wear the mask properly.
Little girl: But, I thought the disease is unknown. So, how could you know it’s harder to stop than the disease?
Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Yes it is unknown, but, as an expert in health and politics, I have to take into account the systemic discrimination you are imposing on this one country. And if countries restrict China from entering their country, then it’s racist.
Little girl: I don’t know the solution then.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: You have to let the people continue to travel freely. Hug them and attend their close contact meetings and functions like on Chinese New Year to show your support that we should not be afraid of the disease. Be inclusive and caring. Don’t be afraid of the disease. The risk is very low. Be afraid of racism as it is harder to stop than the disease.
If they arrive in our airport and they have symptoms, they should be told what to do with a piece of paper. This way there is no systemic discrimination. That is the morally RIGHT thing to do.
Restricting travel has no scientific basis for helping stop an epidemic. Masks have no scientific basis for helping stop the virus. And racism is harder to control than the disease. And restricting travel to and from China will have dire economic consequences. You have to think about that. It’s not just about health, there are economic consequences.
Little girl: But, I thought the disease is unknown? What if the disease is really bad.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Racism is worst than the disease. I want to emphasize and re-iterate and restate and recapitulate and belabor the point that we don’t tolerate racism. It’s harder to control and can be worse than the disease.
Little girl: I think I get it now. Racism is way worse than the unknown disease.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Very good little girl.
3 months pass by and the little girl happens to meet the Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees.
Little girl: Hello sir!
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Oh, hello little girl.
Little girl: How come travel around the world is now restricted?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: The disease is spreading much worse than we thought. It’s killing thousands of people. Hospitals are overflowing. People are afraid to get close to one another. It’s hard to carry out work when people are afraid to get close to one another. We had to restrict travel and keep people isolated.
Little girl: But, I thought restricting travel on China is racist.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: We’re not restricting China. Everyone is restricting travel now. So, it’s not racist anymore.
Little girl: So, isn’t the economic consequences of restricting travel globally worse than restricting one country?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: We’re orders of magnitude worse than if we just restricted one country from the start. BUT, we did the morally right thing. We weren’t discriminatory. And we’re taking the pain together across the entire planet instead of one country. We’re spreading the pain worldwide and taking it together so that one country doesn’t feel isolated. We have to help one another.
Little girl: But, I never had any discriminatory thoughts in mind. I just thought it would protect the other countries from the disease.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Little girl, you missed my point: let me emphasize, re-iterate, re-state, re-capitulate, and belabor the point: Systemic discrimination and racism is worst than the disease.
Little girl: Why is everyone wearing masks? I thought it had no scientific basis and could make it worse.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Masks are needed to reduce the spread of droplets.
Little girl: I thought it had no scientific basis and could make it worse.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: We’re doing everything we can to stop this disease.
Little girl: I thought it had no scientific basis and could make it worse.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: We base our decisions on science, not politics.
Little girl: I thought it had no scientific basis and could make it worse.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Little girl, you don’t seem to understand. I’m a politician and health expert. I’m not going to answer your question if it makes me look bad. Please stop asking me that question.
Little girl: Ok. I have to go now, it’s dinner time.
6 months later
Little girl: Hi, Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees (over Zoom)
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Hello little girl.
Little girl: I have a question: If we’re under lockdown, how come so many politicians have travelled overseas for vacation?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: It wasn’t me.
Anything else little girl?
Little girl: I overheard my mommy say she’s making more now than when she was working. How is that possible?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: It’s called work from home.
Little girl: But, she’s not working, she got laid off.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: It’s called “Free money”. Take it while you can get it.
Do you want some? I can give you more than what your mommy gives you for your allowance.
Little girl: Wow, that’s so nice of you. Just send it to my bitcoin wallet.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: I can’t do that. We use “fiat currency” – aka the “unlimited dollar”.
Little girl: Unlimited? As in as much as I want?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Yes.
Little girl: Ok, I’ll take it. Thanks!
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: No problem. We’re giving it away to everyone to get through this pandemic. Both rich and poor. Mostly the rich, I mean, mostly the poor. That was a Freudian slip. We’re giving it to all who need it.
Little girl: When can I get the vaccine? I really want to play with my friends.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: It’s coming. Well, it was coming, now it’s not coming. But, it will come. (Ontario perspective).
Little girl: I really want to go back to school and play with my friends.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Don’t worry, Ontario’s Premier asked the new incoming US President to donate 1 million vaccines.
Little girl: But, I heard the US is having it way worse than us in Canada.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: They are. They have it the worst in the world.
Little girl: So, why would they give us some of their vaccines?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: You know, so we can have a cumbaya moment.
Little girl: What is a cumbaya moment?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Something that is not going to happen.
In a whisper: Especially after the Premier said to the US, we don’t want your coronavirus, keep the border closed.
Little Girl: Why would our Premier say that?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Because it’s Doug Ford.
A year later.
Little girl: Hi, Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees (over Zoom)
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Hello little girl.
Little girl: I heard that there is another coronvirus spreading and it’s really fast. It’s called omicron.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Yes, this time we already isolated the country, South Africa, and we’re blocking them from entering Canada.
Little girl: I thought restricting travel is racist. We didn’t do that to China. And I thought the report only came out hours ago.
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Yes, it only came out hours ago, but, you know, we’re being quick this time.
Little girl: So, why is it okay to restrict travel this time?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Because China would have kicked our ass.
Little girl: Pardon me?
Adult Political Health Expert with Multiple Advanced Degrees: Sorry, I said a bad word. The first time it’s racist because it’s China. The second time, they’re black people so Canada felt it’s okay.
Okay, I’ll stop here.
In the past decade or so, political correctness has taken over the world. Apparently unless it happens to black people.
Political correctness has taken over common sense. Anything that remotely seems racist or discriminatory is stopped in it’s tracks. We’ve even come up with the term and use of systemic discrimination which is used with such blanket application when it just doesn’t make sense.
In a way it’s stronger than the law because it’s used to change rules, laws, overrides logic, intelligent thinking, and common sense, and it changes behaviour and thinking which are probably the hardest things to change in the world.
In managing this covid19 pandemic, political correctness and systemic discrimination was used to prevent us from trying to stop the spread of the disease.
Our leaders were more concerned about how China would feel if we didn’t allow them into Canada rather than the health and safety of Canadians.
And now, the world is in massive debt, we’re locked down, lost a lot our livlihoods, millions of people have died, marital abuse and divorce has increased massively, we’ve divided a lot of the world, and we’re polluting the planet with so much “personal protective equipment” (PPE), and we’re setting our kids up for the worse pandemic ever as we use anti-septics in epic proportions, and we’re experiencing covid19 variants unlike anything before.
The next virus or bacteria the spreads could be a super-bug that ravages the human population. And this is all because we were more concerned about China’s feelings rather than our safety. And that’s because our leaders (adults) have told us, “racism could be more difficult to control than the virus“. Right, supra-genius observation. You need a Ph.D and multiple years of health expertise and experience for that???
If you are a young millenial or Gen Z and you look up to “experience” and executives, and “leaders’, always be skeptical.
They can “run a country” and make absolutely moronic, idiotic, and completely beyond stupid decisions with consequences that are globally devastating without any accountability and consequences to themselves. Maybe that’s what’s actually appealing to them.
I think our global leaders have forgotten the saying:
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Why is isolating China who solely had the virus racist? Because of our use of “systemic discrimination” which is used indiscriminately.
Systemic discrimination is anything that disadvantages a particular race.
So, isolating one country such as China is considered discrimination, and in this case racist, because it disadvantages the Chinese people.
Even if our intention is to control the virus, world leaders and “experts” (again adults with multiple high educational degrees) considered this discriminatory to isolate China. So, as the epidemic unfolded right before our eyes in just one country, our leaders kept reminding us that isolating China is racist and discriminatory, rather than carrying out sensible known measures of isolating a “patient” to control the epidemic.
Of course, we don’t isolate them and let them deal with it alone. We should isolate and help them out as much as possible with PPE, vaccines, medical personnel and whatever else is needed. But, no, that would be a disaster world leaders told us and just flat out wrong and immoral. Okay, so the current situation is much better, I take it?
Well, this is what you get when you apply a rule (system discrimination) for political correctness purposes. You have to apply rules if they make sense. Especially these kinds of rules. It’s not like mathematical rules, this is a social and political rule.

My Exposure to Racism
I have been exposed to racism. I get it. During this pandemic, while crossing the street at Yonge and Davisville, a guy walking past me says: “Bringing the virus here to Canada?”
I haven’t even been to China. I don’t even like the government. I only know how to say happy new year in Chinese. I actually could converse modestly in Spanish.
On another occasion, many years ago, I remember eating at an IKEA and these young (white) girls (either high school or university) for some reason asked me to move when I was already sitting down eating. I don’t even know why as there were so many empty tables around me.
I looked up at them with a puzzled expression and they just chuckled and moved over to another table. Then I overheard one of them say: “haha, he probably doesn’t even know English.”
I walked up to them and told them, “I heard that and I was born here in Canada, I went to Waterloo and did my MBA at McMaster. So, yes, I understand English.”
I walk back to my table and I hear one of them say, “What does basketball have to do with English.
Anyways, I don’t know if it’s racism. It’s more like plain stupidity. Maybe it’s discrimination against “different” looking people because I’m coloured, I don’t know. I could see them saying something stupid like that to another white person with let’s say Down’s Syndrome.
So, for me, it’s more about stupidity rather than racism. But, some people like to use the race card or discrimination to make it seem like they’re more of a victim.
There are a few other stories like that that have happened to me, but, I can’t be bothered to get into them.
The thing is, I get it we need to fight “racism” and stigma. It’s out there. But, please let’s fight the most critical issue at hand first. Because doing something this stupid will probably lead to racism.
Think about it, there is going to be people who resent Asian looking people for what has happened because the government made these idiotic decisions. Many of these people have lost their job, family, money, and health, and there is going to be a lot of anger. Governments could have helped prevent the spread rather than let the disease spread in favour of fighting racism.
I’m not saying not to fight racism. But, you have to deal with the main issue at hand. And if our leaders can’t collectively understand the consequences of a pandemic, well, now they know!
Racism vs Fighting the Virus
We have turned the world upside down all in the name of preventing “racism” and being political correct so as to not hurt China’s feelings.
Does China even care? I found these links about China:

Our stupid Western leaders were more concerned about China’s feelings than a pandemic that could really screw up our country and the world??? What is wrong with people?
Our leaders truly made the stupidest, most moronic, most idiotic, and most insane mistake in the history of our planet. All made by adults with multiple highly advanced degrees with tons of “experience”.
Why? Because we’ve become stupidly “politically correct”. Because collectively, Western global leaders felt it was more important to make China feel welcome than to protect the safety of their own citizens. Western leaders thought they were being noble and taking the high ground and wanted to look non-discriminatory, inclusive, and compassionate. Is having a global pandemic and putting everyone’s lives into turmoil the right way to teach about racism and discrimination? Is that the right way to take the high ground?
It’s not like Western leaders didn’t understand what could happen. They knew it could happen. But, they thought making sure China didn’t feel discriminated against was more important and worth the risk of the virus spreading throughout our country and the planet.
I don’t think Canadians fully understand what our government did. Because if they did, we would have thrown out our current government.
I said early on that if this gets out of hand, then racism will become much more real because of all the death and loss that will occur if this pandemic gets out of control.
Because then, people will start to resent China or Asian looking people. They’ve lost their jobs, livlihoods, family, friends, maybe went through divorce, fights with other family and so on.
Our leaders are responsible for the increase in racism because they didn’t want to focus on preventing the disease. If we controlled the disease and worried more about it’s spread, we probably wouldn’t be in this disaster and the increasing hatred against Asians.
What will happen when the next bug we see spreading comes from another “coloured” country. Will our leaders have the brains or intelligence to make the right decision or will political correctness stupidity repeat itself?
That’s a no brainer – they’ll make the exact same mistake.
Update 2021-12-20
Actually, I’m astounded. Because this time a new variant was discovered by South Africa and Canada immediately blocked them from entering Canada within hours. Not like China where we kept talking racism. We instantly, no debate, just blocked South Africa even though at this point, the virus probably was all over the world, but, we just didn’t know about it.
In the first instance, the virus was probably isolated and so restricting travel would have slowed it down. But, for this omicron, it made no sense except to be openly racist.
It’s so blatant, I’m actually quite surprised no one is calling for racism this time. It’s nowhere in the headlines. It’s absolutely crazy. This first time we experienced the virus it was brand new. We knew nothing and had no vaccines and we were caught off guard. This time, we’re about 90% vaccinated, we’re using masks everywhere, and we’ve lived with this for almost 2 years.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen any headlines complaining about racism. I mean, the world has gone crazy. Sometimes, an officer is doing his job and has to arrest a black person and then I read crazy headlines. It’s hard to tell if it’s racism in those individual cases.
What Canada did just now was to an entire country and no backlash or comments whatsoever. I just don’t get it.
What Our Leaders Said at the Beginning of the Pandemic
I don’t think people remember how at the beginning, our leaders were so hard on us NOT to worry about this disease. They emphasized how racism could be worse than the disease.
Now, they keep telling us how we need to stay the course and keep our distances, not to see other people, begging us to stay in our homes, vaccinate, self-isolate, not travel, and so on.
I can’t even say how angry I am with the stupidity of our leaders.
References and Resources
Here are links and social media screenshots to the stupidity of our leaders on how they handled this virus. The stupidity is endless and I just want to keep links from our media showing the incompetencies. We should not forget what happened.
The complacent country: How Canadian public health allowed itself to be steamrolled by COVID-19
This highlights some of the idiocy of our leaders from the beginning of the pandemic. Thank you so much National Post and reporter, Tristin Hopper for capturing this. It needs to be shared and promoted.
I’m going to share excerpts from this article.
On March 11, 2020, the very first day that the World Health Organization officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic, a senior official within the Canadian public health establishment went on TV to tell everyone not to “overreact.”
Worrying About Stigma
Here is an example of how concerned the top health organization was with stigma than the disease itself. They produced this document to fight stigma instead of trying to stop the disease:
https://www.who.int/docs/default-source/coronaviruse/covid19-stigma-guide.pdf
Here is a tweet from Patty Hajdu, our Minister of Health:
Patty Hajdu and Travelling into Canada
Here is a statement from our Chief Public Health Officer:
Just a few days after Canada recorded its first COVID-19 case, on January 29, Theresa Tam told a House of Commons committee that the country could do well to improve the “social media literacy” of its citizens who were becoming overly panicked by the coronavirus. “As I have always said, the epidemic of fear could be more difficult to control than the epidemic itself,” she said.
Did you read that? “the epidemic of fear could be more difficult to control than the epidemic itself”. That’s what our top medical officer was worried about when the virus first arrived in Canada.
The road to Canada’s COVID-19 outbreak: timeline of federal government failure at border to slow the virus
This article is a great outline of the pandemic from reporter, David Staples of the Edmonton Journal. Thank you so much for your work on this.
Dr. Margaret Harris of the WHO’s coronavirus response team would explain in April 2020 to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria that at this moment the WHO didn’t want to move too fast on a full emergency order because of the economic impact on China and Asia, the kind of impact that was felt after a WHO travel ban during the 2003 SARS outbreak. This earlier ban and the ensuing economic pain led to new international rules in 2005 on travel and trade related to global pandemics.
Wow, the WHO and global leaders decided it was more important for the WHOLE f$#$%^%$ing planet to experience pain than one country. Smart move. The economic pain now is not so bad, right??? Sure, I think the pain has been mitigated. It would have been a lot worse if we just stopped the disease in it’s tracks. [Sarcasm]
And at least it’s not just China feeling the pain. The whole planet feels it. It’s like a cumbaya moment. We’re in it together. [Sarcasm]
Was it really worth it and the right way to teach people that a pandemic can affect any race?

Trudeau at Chinese New Year 2020 Celebration
This is Trudeau at a Chinese New Year celebration in 2020 shortly after the first case in Canada was reported on Jan 25, 2020.
I’m not the only one who thought this was beyond stupid at the time of an unknown new disease that was spreading exponentially in China. Look at some of the comments in the video:
I want Canadians to remember how stupid our top politician was and our top medical officer of health. Because, I’m sure she advised Trudeau it was okay.
Only a politician would not feel any remorse, any guilt, or any accountability to this disease spreading in Canada like it has.
Today is April 16, 2021. Notice how in all their speeches, they’ve stopped talking about racism, diversity, and inclusiveness. Not sure if it’s because they’ve started to understand they need to tackle the virus which just hit an all-time high in Ontario or because they think it’s not good for their political speeches. Probably the latter.
Patty Hajdu Conspiracy Theory
Patty Hajdu tells our own Canadian reporter that it’s a “conspiracy theory” to question whether the data from China is valid. How about, “I don’t know”. But, “conspiracy theory”. I mean seriously how stupid can our top officals get.
So, as you can see, we have our Prime Minister, our Chief Medical Officer of Health, and our Federal Health Minister making the most moronic decisions and statements regarding SARS-CoV-2. It’s no surprise it’s going to spread in Canada.
Vaccination Rollout
Today, I just read this article from CTV News. It’s about a behavioural therapist that sees clients in their homes and therefore travels from home to home across the city. She was told by Toronto Public Health that she qualifies for a vaccine shot.
But, when she arrived at the hospital (SunnyBrook), she was denied the vaccine. Today is April 1, 2021 and I hope it’s a joke, but, it’s not.
“The fact that I didn’t get my vaccine, that I stayed here to do the right thing to protect my community, and lost the opportunity to say goodbye in person, it’s absolutely disgusting.”
https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/i-was-in-tears-toronto-health-care-worker-says-she-was-turned-away-from-her-covid-19-vaccination-appointment-1.5371537
Here we are trying hard to get everyone vaccinated as the incidence rate is rising fast. Ontario even announced another 4 week lockdown because it’s so bad.
Our leaders are telling us to be keep our distance, stay at home, get our shot, and so forth and then a health care worker gets denied a vaccine when she’s right there on the spot able to get one???
How much more f*!#$%#ing stupid can this get?
My dad is blind and deaf and I am the only one who can help him. I’m his only relative in Canada. Even I couldn’t get a vaccine even though I was right there with him when he got the vaccine. They wouldn’t allow me to register to get a vaccine because I didn’t live with him. He’s blind and deaf and in his 80’s and they don’t want to give me a shot because I don’t live with him. Is that not stupid beyond stupid???
If I lived with him, I can see a slight improvement in logic since we live under the same roof. But, the fact that we don’t live together is further reason to give me the vaccine!!!
The stupidity of this is just beyond comprehension and I’m writing this out because it needs to be documented. It needs to be shared. The stupidity of our government and “the system” is just so enormous, it needs to be known and exposed.
47-year-old Ontario teacher who was ‘totally healthy’ intubated after contracting COVID-19
Yesterday (Apr 3, 2021), I read another story to highlight the idiocy of the vaccination program.
In this article, a teacher gets intubed after getting SARS-Cov-2 from a student.
The doctor in the article is saying:
“We’ve got to address the root cause of this problem.”
https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/47-year-old-ontario-teacher-who-was-totally-healthy-intubated-after-contracting-covid-19-1.5373439
He goes on to further say:
He said essential workers, especially those who work in congregate settings, need urgent access to paid sick leave, isolation facilitates, and better testing.

Explain why teachers aren’t vaccinated.
Explain why essential workers now fill our ICUs in Ontario.

Right now, we’re vaccinating people according to age group. We’re starting with the 80’s (we may have started with the 90s, but, I’m not sure) and up. And I get it, it’s because the government screwed up in the first wave as most of the deaths were in that age group.
But, they’re fixing the mistake too late. And the infections are happening with different age groups now.
You have to be nimble and flexible to fight a war. You can’t just follow some stupid rule. Look at what’s happening to the community and attack it appropriately. Sure, they can start saying, we’re helping our elderly. We’re protecting the most vulnerable. Blah, blah, blah. Whatever allows them to say good things for their political statements.
Start vaccinating the appropriate people. Not just so you can say some nice statement like: We’re protecting the most vulnerable.
You guys screwed up already with respect to protecting the most vulnerable.
Today (April 6, 2021), this article from CTV News came out:

Doug Ford
Our Premier has been constantly telling us that he’d have more people vaccinated if it wasn’t for the delay of vaccines from the Federal government.
Yesterday (April 5, 2021), a tweet comes from Patty Hajdu:
Who to believe since both of them have made stupid mistakes.
If you’re a young person reading this and you look up to the “Premier” or “Prime Minister” or “Cabinet Minister”, or other so called “Leaders” – don’t! They’re more incompetent by orders of magnitude than the “average joe”.
Province of Ontario and Schools
So, our Provincial government tells us we’re going to have in-class learning after spring break.
The next day, they say it’s remote learning.
Doug Ford says he’s being proactive.
I don’t think he understands what proactive means.
If he was proactive, he would have said that at the beginning of spring break.
I can’t find my Ontario graph, but, Ontario looked exactly the same. Does it take a health expert and consultation to figure out what is going to happen next??? Can he not extrapolate the trajectory of the curve?
So, why did our Education Minister say schools would remain open and the following day it would close with all this data available? Not to mention the waffling.
Well, this is a leader in charge of running our province. Just remember that.
I don’t have time to write more about this, except, this was absolutely stupid as well – what’s new, right?
I’m keeping links here to look back at when I have time:

Statement Mistakes
Sometimes we make mistakes. I have. We all have. But, here is an article which outlines some misstatements by our PM regarding the handling of this pandemic.

Dealing with China
Trudeau actually tried to get our vaccines from China, the source of the virus and the country that tried to cover up the initial cases.
“This is encouraging news.” That’s what Trudeau said last year, when announcing a deal with China to jointly develop a vaccine. The deal fell apart just days after Trudeau announced it – and our Prime Minister covered up that failure for months. Even now, many questions remain, like: why did he think it was ever advisable to do a deal with the country that has illegally imprisoned two Canadian citizens? Why did he trust the Chinese, when no other nation would?

Here is another quote about the Canada – China vaccine partnership:
The wisdom of this strategy has become apparent in recent months as a deal to test China’s COVID-19 vaccine in a Canadian Phase I/II trial unraveled at the seams. The breakdown culminated in an announcement by Canada’s National Research Council (NRC) of the dissolution of the partnership. Canadians have been left wondering what exactly motivated Canada to enter into such an unstable partnership in the first place given the dire state of Canada-China relations and the scandalous history of China’s vaccine industry.

Another quote from the article:
Margaret McCuaig-Johnston, formerly assistant deputy minister overseeing Canada’s vaccine collaborations with China, recently told Global News that China has a history of creating customs obstacles as leverage in trade disagreements. McCuaig-Johnston further said that “China’s success in vaccines is standing on the back of Canadian researchers and scientists. Over the years we helped China develop its capacity. But China is no longer a reliable partner.”

The Stupidity of Trudeau and How He Got Lucky
Read this about how China probably decided not to give us vaccines because of politics. It’s actually good, but, crazy we were doing this in the first place.
Here is another article about how China decided to not give us the vaccine due to poliitics and our government was informed on May 19, 2020 and didn’t tell the public until July 6, 2020. All for the better, but, how stupid can we be??
And Diane Francis, Financial Post editor-at-large, cites that Trudeau actually delayed American vaccine shipments to try and get Chinese vaccines.
Whaaaaaat???
I don’t think people realize how massively stupid Trudeau is. He is so damn lucky that China was being China and decided not to give us the vaccine.
This is the most ineffective vaccine out there and we could have gotten it if Trudeau had his way. Think about that. I’m updating this rant on July 31st, 2021 with the Delta variant spreading like wildfire across the globe. Trudeau really is so damn lucky China was trying to punish him for holding Meng Wangzhou.
But, you have to understand, Trudeau wanted the Chinese vaccine, not Pfizer.
More incompetence from Trudeau and the vaccine rollout:
September 26, 2021 Update
Trudeau wins an election he called 2 years early. He thought that he could capitalize on the vaccination results in Canada with Pfizer and Moderna even though he didn’t want those vaccines. He actually tried to get the Chinese vaccines which were the least effective vaccines, but, luckily China was being China and trying to punish us by not giving us the vaccines we ordered.
The fact is if they gave us the vaccine, it would be a way worse punishment.
Then, we spend 600 million dollars for the election. Canadians re-elect him. And parliament is practically exactly the same. What does this say for the electorate? I think they’re insane.
Today, April 6, 2021, I got another Google feed suggestion: Health Canada face mask recall impacts tech company with Collingwood production site
In this article, Health Canada ask distributors to recall masks with a chemical called graphene in them because of “potential inhalation risks”.
The federal department issued a notice on Good Friday urging people not to use face masks labelled as containing graphene particles after preliminary testing identified that inhaled graphene particles could cause early lung toxicity in animals. The potential risk to people not yet known.
https://www.collingwoodtoday.ca/local-news/health-canada-face-mask-recall-impacts-tech-company-with-collingwood-production-site-3606746
The warning comes after one model of graphene mask, made in China, were distributed in Quebec schools and daycares by a distributor in that province.
https://www.collingwoodtoday.ca/local-news/health-canada-face-mask-recall-impacts-tech-company-with-collingwood-production-site-3606746
Health Canada said it is also requesting data from manufacturers to assess potential health risks.
https://www.collingwoodtoday.ca/local-news/health-canada-face-mask-recall-impacts-tech-company-with-collingwood-production-site-3606746
Notice how our government is quick to ask every company to recall their masks immediately over “potential” risks without any good data yet.
Yet, an unknown virus entering Canada is okay???
Which does the government think is more difficult to handle “after-the-fact”: A physical mask distributed by one company where their stores are all traceable or an unknown virus that could cause an epidemic?
Is it really that difficult to figure out? Do we really need more health experts and politicians? Or do we need some people with a little bit of intelligence?
In fact, we did know that it was multiplying exponentially. We did know it already arrived in Canada. We had 2 medical journals already indicate that it was transferring from person to person. But, the government decided it was worth the risk of a pandemic than to hurt the feelings of China. Does China even care?
The idiocy is beyond comprehensible. And it’s 100% our leaders fault for this pandemic. Our leaders owe it to all Canadians affected, to compensate us for whatever means. It’s complete idiocy on their part.
Think about it: I have to emphasize that our government leaders and around the world thought it would be racist to lock out China temporarily while they get their epidemic under control, but, okay to risk the livlihoods of their own citizens, let them die, let them suffer, postpone hospital surgery, have us locked down, restrict our freedoms in our homes, at businesses, and entertainment, allow businesses to suffer and go bankrupt, and basically our livlihood so that we don’t look racist. WTF???
This is just going to increase racism. When Britain had their variant start spreading, no one had any qualms restricting UK citizens into their country. WTF???
The Lancet paper also reported that the first person who died from the virus, on January 9, passed it along to his wife a week prior. Similarly, another recent report in the New England Journal of Medicine also shows there were already seven health care workers infected by January 11.
https://www.vox.com/2020/2/10/21124881/coronavirus-outbreak-china-li-wenliang-world-health-organization
“This is the smoking-gun evidence of human-to-human transmission,” Yanzhong Huang, a China expert and senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations, told Vox. “But the public was not kept informed about this situation until January 18,” Huang said. Instead, “People were still told there was no strong evidence of human-to-human transmission.”
https://www.vox.com/2020/2/10/21124881/coronavirus-outbreak-china-li-wenliang-world-health-organization
What’s ironic is that if we had let China deal with the issue, they are probably the only country on the planet that could handle the virus. Western countries like ours just complain about our “rights”.
I know people will argue that restricting travel only delays the inevitable. But, that is only because infected people still travel.
It’s 100% accurate to say that if the people infected in China did not travel outside of China, then, it would be contained in the one country.
The reason it is not as effective as we would like is not because restricting travel doesn’t work. It’s because it’s not implemented perfectly.
Let’s look at it in another way. We know that there is a law that you cannot steal. But, stealing still happens. So, should we just forget the law? That’s what these stupid health experts are saying.
No, we try to enforce the law. We try and understand why people continue to steal. We try to prevent people from stealing. But, we don’t just drop the law.
We know that if you are infected and you stay in your home isolated from everyone else, you are not going to give it to someone else in a home 5 blocks away.
The same applies to groups of people and to countries. Are there leaks? Yes, there are. But, that is where you try to improve and mitigate the risks. Not drop the method.
The crazy thing of all this is that even with the moronic decisions made by our leaders, if everyone just didn’t invite friends to their homes and get into groups with family and friends for 2 months, this virus could be gone.
But, because we have people complain about masks and still see their friends and family at their homes and still get close to others in their homes, and feel these restrictions are an infringement of their rights, this virus has persisted for over a year now.
I overheard one mother talking to another early on in the pandemic: I don’t care if her friends come over, as long as it frees up my time. I’m pretty sure she’s talking about her daughter’s friends.
I get it. I kept my 4-year old daughter out of school for almost a year when she could have gone to school. I know it’s hard. I’ve heard the comments: My child needs to socialize. My child needs to play with others, we need to look at the mental health of our child, blah, blah, blah.
As if my child doesn’t need that. Give me break. It’s not our child’s mental health that is going to break. At least not my daughter. It’s my mental health that is going to break from pretending to be Gaston from Beauty and Beast or Prince Eric from Ariel for an entire year.
It’s crazy. It could have been gone in 2 months, but, no, people just don’t care. Two months is too much of their time. Too much a restriction of their “freedom” and rights. I don’t hear people complaining we have to wear pants in public. It’s an infringement of my rights. I need my balls to hang out and have sunshine. But, a mask – oh that’s an infringement of my rights. Well, this is what we get.
Summary
In the end, we have the first mistake by our leaders who underestimated the virus and thought racism would be worse than the disease.
Wrong.
Then, we could have mitigated it in our province, but, our leader thought having our businesses closed for too long would be worse than the virus.
Wrong.
Then, too many people thought that their “infringement of their freedom” would be worse than the virus.
Wrong.
Three strikes and now we’re really feeling the pain.
Will it happen again??? Absoultely. People don’t learn.
Canadians vs Americans
Many Canadians were making fun of Americans as their cases rose much more than ours. I actually hate that about Canadians: How much they make fun of Americans.
Well, Americans are having the last laugh. Look at the incidence rate in the US.
Now look at Canada:
That’s karma happening.
You have to look at how Americans are handling this. They’ve got much more freedom than us. We’ve been doing much worse lockdowns. But, they’re at the same incidence as us taking into account population.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t have locked down as much. We just implemented vaccines terribly. And we handled travel restrictions badly. These were all horrible mistakes by our government.
I laugh at all the people that made fun of Americans when their incidence rates were so high and now it’s coming down and the people are getting vaccinated.
Now people are criticizing America for not providing enough vaccines to the world and want them to share their vaccines. Give me a f^#$$ing break. If I were America I would tell those people to shove it.
And Candians feel so superior for having higher vaccination rates. Liberals like to claim it’s their execution. In fact, it’s more about the people wanting the vaccine than the execution of the vaccination. If the people want the vaccine, like in Canada, we’ll take it. If we don’t want it, it doesn’t matter what government is in power, we won’t take it.
Comedy
Ok, enough of the seriousness. We need some comedy so we don’t go crazy with the stupidness we’re seeing with the government.
